Pete Donaldson (guitar & vocals), Bob Meyrick (guitar & backing vocals), Anthony "Ferny" Beall (bass) and John Thomas (drums)
Stalwarts of the Nottingham music scene since the early 1990s, the Pete Donaldson Blues Band takes its inspiration from classic artists such as ‘The Three Kings’ (BB, Albert and Freddie) as well as more contemporary figures such as Jimmie Vaughan, Ronnie Earl and Bruce Katz.
Expect to hear classics such as Route 66 and The Stumble, along with re-workings of less familiar tunes like Anne Peebles’ I Can’t Stand the Rain and John Scofield’s take on Ray Charles’ I Don’t Need No Doctor.
ABOUT THE BAND The band started when Pete Donaldson, guitarist with popular local band Working Party, wanted to explore his love of the Blues. Initially working with Working Party colleagues, plus Bob Meyrick (previously with jazzers Spot the Zebra), the band supported Blues legend Jimmy Witherspoon and backed Louisiana Red at gigs in Nottinghamshire.
