Stuart Maxwell is one of the most respected harmonica players in British blues. He has toured the UK, Europe and Scandinavia and has recorded live sessions for BBC Radio 1 and the BBC Radio 2 blues show. His music has also been featured on BBC Radio 3's Late Junction.

He was the front man for the Mick Ralphs Blues Band (Bad Company, Mott the Hoople), played Hammond organ with the Pete Brown band (Cream, Graham Bond, Piblokto!), and toured with 70s R&B icons Brewer's Droop. He also made four critically-acclaimed albums with the progressive blues band Storm Warning.
His songs have been covered by Chris Farlowe, the Hitman Blues Band and the UK blues-rock powerhouse Long Road Home. He was featured on the Cinelli Brothers' British Blues Summit album and co-wrote the track "Much Too Much" with them.

Over the years, Stuart has worked with many of the leading lights of the modern British blues, rock and jazz scenes, including Derek White (Larry Miller, Storm Warning, Bernie Marsden, Cinelli Bros); Matt Edwards (Alice Armstrong, Buddy Whitington, John Verity); Jason Reeve (John Etheridge, Nigel Price, Dave Green); Art Themen (Alexis Korner, Stan Tracey, Graham Bond); Ric Lee (Ten Years After); Nick Johnson (Thunderclap Newman, Everything Under The Sun); Robin Boult (Howard Jones, Fish); Gary Fletcher (The Blues Band); Krissy Matthews (Hamburg Blues Band, Pete Brown).

Stuart Maxwell is the author of three harmonica tuition books for Wise Publications, including The Complete Harmonica Player. His guide to playing the kazoo, also for Wise Publications, is possibly the only work on the topic that has ever achieved global distribution.

Sunday Afternoons is blues/rock though the venue still call it their jazz afternoon. Many of the best local, and sometimes visiting, bands on. Always fun, a friendly crowd and very busy.
